The coronavirus pandemic has had overwhelming economic implications for the Museum and our ability to continue our work to promote Winston Churchill’s legacy and preserve the historic Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. As a result, we are asking you to join our urgent fundraising effort by making a contribution to the Beacon of Resilience campaign today. Your gift will make a critical difference as we navigate the challenging months ahead.

Initially, the Museum closed temporarily to the public on March 15, 2020, due to concern for our visitors as a result of COVID-19, and in accordance with health recommendations by the State of Missouri. Now, with scheduled construction underway, we have decided to extend the temporary closure through June to ensure the preservation and related renovation work is completed.

This important works comes at a cost. Our goal is to raise $500,000, the amount of revenue lost or deferred as a result of the Museum's temporary closure.

Trout Director and Chief Curator Timothy Riley. “We have also quickly expanded existing, or invented new digital programs to ensure that Churchill's leadership can be delivered to devices in the hands of students, teachers, and all those interested in learning more about steadfastness in the face of adversity, a quality of Churchill's leadership that seems particularly apt today.”

The Museum, and its mission, remains a beacon of resilience.
