On March 5 1946, Winston Churchill, accompanied by President Harry S. Truman, visited Westminster College to deliver the John Findley Green Foundation Lecture. Churchill titled his address "Sinews of Peace," commonly known as the 'Iron Curtain' speech for the famous phrase "From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent."
